Starting Monday, February 8 and running weekly until March 7 from 10:30 – 11:15 am will be the Library’s first drop-in Pediatric Therapeutic Playgroup. This group will be led by Joan Beltran, Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist, an occupational therapist, and librarian Mrs. Power. Each week will feature a thematic storytime with music and stories, and experiential learning through a visual gross motor craft.
This program is designed to be an inclusive, welcoming time for children between the ages of 0 and 5 who may have any concerns with developments delays. The activities can be adapted for a child’s particular need and is in no way meant to replace therapy, but is to focus on “developmental” play while families meet and find support. Siblings are welcome.
If your child is currently receiving therapy services or may benefit from therapeutic play then we hope you will join us for dancing, stories, and a time to make some new friends!
