Bring your A game and get ready to READ for our Winter Reading Program! "Game On!" is the name, and the game is..uh, well... you guessed it: games! The fun will begin January 2 and last until February 28. It'll be a great way to start 2018 (especially if your New Year's resolution is to read more or have more fun!). Staying entertained during the cold winter months can get a little dicey, but there is no way you'll be bored this winter with board games and other fun challenges at the library.
You don't need a ticket to ride, just drop by the Youth Services Desk with your AAPLD library card to sign up and get your Winter Reading log, which is a really fun design this year. Somebody made up a super fun BINGO game. Guess who? Why, the Youth Services Department, of course! Each square has a fun challenge to choose and you need to get a BINGO by doing the activities in the squares and filling them in. Perhaps you will read or attend a program, or perhaps you will take a risk and draw a card at the Youth Services desk for a surprise challenge. To make things even more exciting, some cards are Librarian's Choice- We could say anything! Sorry! We are not sorry for keeping things exciting!
Once you have your first BINGO, stop by the Youth Services desk to collect your prizes. After your next 3 BINGOS, you get entered in drawings for more prizes. If you do ALL the activities in all the squares, that's a black-out BINGO and it'll be worth a special drawing entry for $50 gift card! So much to do and so much incentive to do it ALL! It'll be a trivial pursuit of fun and prizes!
And that's not all! It may boggle your mind how many programs we have going on throughout Winter Reading to keep you and your family playing, learning, and having fun! We've got a monopoly on Winter Reading fun and your best strategy is to sign-up to read and play the cold winter days away!
Keep an eye out for programs on our online schedule for opportunities to be a game mastermind and challenge your cranium, including Game Day Sundays and Life-Size Candy Land!
