Perhaps you have noticed that things are looking a bit different at the library? With the construction for the expansion, there are big machines, steel beams, dirt, and workers in hardhats all around outside! But things are different inside, too! Temporary walls were put up, it's been a little bit noisier, and some of our shelves and materials have been moved around, too! What's up with that?
We are making room for... more rooms! Along with the expansion to give us more square feet of library space, new rooms will be built in the space we already have to create brand new study rooms, a maker space and more. In order to make way for that, the Harnish branch will be closed on Friday, September 22 (Eastgate will be open), and AAPLD staff will be busy moving a lot of materials around and even putting some items in storage temporarily.
This is just the beginning of our big renovation and we appreciate your patience as we go through the phases of the project. It will totally be worth it when it's all complete and we have a spiffier space with even more to offer. And just remember- if you're looking for something and can't find it, don't hesitate to ask a librarian!
