Oakton Community College will be hosting a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) career conference for girls in 6th-9th grade. This educational and engaging conference was created to help foster girls’ interest in STEM education and open their eyes to STEM related careers.
The conference offers a wide variety of hands-on workshops from learning how to create your own app to building a remote control robot. For a list of all workshops offered, go to http://janeaddams-il.aauw.net/tech-savvy/.
Parents are also invited to attend the conference with their daughters. The parents' program will offer informative presentations on STEM education and careers throughout the day. Parents and daughters will reunite at the end of the day to enjoy a keynote speaker together.

Location: TenHoeve Center (Oakton Community College, 1600 East Golf Road, Des Plaines, IL)
Cost: $10 per person, includes lunch (girls and adults).
