Get your IAR practice tests now! The IAR test has replaced the PARCC test (which replaced the ISAT test). Lucky for you, we have all available practice test booklets in our Homework Center Collection. We even still have our old ISAT and PARCC test prep books too. For more IAR online resources and online practice tests, head over to the IAR website here.
Why does Illinois keep switching standardized tests?
The first year the state administered PARCC, the results were lower than any state test since 2001, so it was clear that something needed to change. Additionally, many school districts complained about the PARCC. Now we have the IAR and it is about one-third shorter than PARCC. Another reason is for computer administration — Illinois hopes to make the IAR completely computer based throughout the state by the 2020-2021 school year. Dates are currently unavailable for the 2019-2020 school year, but based on last year’s timeline, the IAR will be administered around February-March 2020.
