Construction has been ongoing at the Harnish Main Branch for months. Now we finally get to enjoy the results of all that hard work! We thank our patrons for their understanding and patience as all these changes have been taking place and hope they are as excited as we are about what's new at the library!
Our addition was recently opened to the public, so there are new spaces to enjoy. In the Youth Services department we have a Creation Center for programs,a Homework Center and Study Rooms (book reservations starting March 5) for space to focus on schoolwork and other projects, plus there are cozy Reading Nooks to relax with a book! Take a look at the pictures below and plan a visit soon!
Now we enter the next phase of construction- the other side of the building will undergo many changes. What to expect when you come in? The program room is being torn down to make room for new displays and shelving. A new program room will be built in the location where admin used to be (their offices are upstairs now). We will also have a bigger, new and improved play area. For now, the play area and picture books are in the meeting room (the room with open double doors at the bottom of the stairs). We're also proud that we will be adding a nursing room near the new play area.
With so much work completed and so much yet to look forward to, it's safe to say we have reached the halfway point of our renovation goals. The library will be under construction for a few more months, but we already have many new spaces to enjoy and all the commotion will be worth it when we are done! And just remember, if you need help finding anything in the meantime, don't hesitate to ask a librarian!
