April 22nd is Earth Day! This is the one special day dedicated to celebrating our planet, and also a day we spend talking about the ways we can take good care of the Earth all year round. The goal is to keep our environment clean and healthy by reducing the pollution we create and protecting the wildlife all around us. There are so many ways we can all get involved and make a difference!
Going Green, for starters, means to make choices that are good for the earth and develop habits that make a difference in how much the Earth's resources and energy you use. Reducing, Reusing, Recycling is a way to cut down on the amount of natural resources we use up and the amount of junk that ends up in the junk yard. If you're looking for specifics, here is a great resource on recycling glass, plastic, and metal. Another important thing is to protect wildlife. We share the planet with a lot of other plants and animals and should be mindful of their well-being. The big buzz lately is saving the bees, and the butterflies, too!
Hopefully the ideas in this post will help you make every day earth day. But don't forget: you can always keep reading and learning more about the environment and ways to take care of our Earth!
